About Me
Syd Titus, M.S., LPCC •
(they/she)
I ventured into the healing profession as a queer person living in the Deep South with a passion for developing connections. Witnessing firsthand the need for affirmative care, I became committed to providing psychotherapy to underserved populations. After receiving a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi, I relocated to Ohio where I worked at a non-profit community mental health agency. During my time at the agency, I provided therapeutic services to marginalized communities and served on the agency’s diversity committee to share my experiences as a queer gender-expansive person.
At The Self Collective, it is my mission to provide inclusive therapy to folks through a lens that is liberation-focused and strengths-based. Being a culturally competent provider is an ongoing process, and I am dedicated to engaging in career-long education and training to ensure I am providing a safe space for healing. I am trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy by the IFS Institute, which is a holistic, client-centered, non-pathologizing approach to therapy.
I specialize in treating trauma, facilitating identity exploration, and healing relational wounds for LGBTQIAP+, poly-am, and BDSM/kinky folks, using Internal Family Systems therapy and Liberation Psychology to promote inner harmony, authentic connections, and Self love. I am licensed to provide services via telehealth to folks in Mississippi and Ohio. I am physically located on Tonkawa, Comanche, and Apache land (Austin, Texas).
